I think it is a sign of Cassie’s intelligence that she is applying what she’s just learned to try to solve the current problem.

Security Agent Captain Cassandra Quinn is on assignment to the mining outpost Luna Seven amid rumors of pirates near the outpost. On her approach to the complex, she saw something moving around on the surface of the moon that shouldn’t have been. During her attempts to verify her visual sighting, a mysterious ship blasted her out of the sky. Her story starts HERE.
Meanwhile, on miner Simon Tripline’s morning commute to work, he sees something strange through a porthole. Shortly thereafter, Simon’s suspicions are aroused concerning the mysterious activities of the base’s top earner, Vin Sinclair, who becomes separated from the mining party. Simon takes off to find him, but finds Captain Quinn instead. He rescues her, but she wakes up confused, angry and armed. While they argue, something is watching them.
But the disoriented Captain Quinn threatens to shoot Simon one too many times, so he buckles in, seals his mask, and vents the cab compartment, blowing her out of the digger into the vaccuum of the moon, even though she only has 5 minutes of oxygen left. Before long, he brings her back in and tries to reason with her. It doesn’t go well, but before Simon and Captain Quinn can beat each other to death, the moon aliens come calling.

The long hot summer is almost over, and I’m ready to return to Moon Town. A new strip will be going up this Tuesday, Aug 3 2010, and to reward your extraordinary patience, I present a preview of the next strip, above.
I may only be able to get one strip a week for a bit, but I should at least be able to get you that, and maybe more. We shall see. Anyway, thanks again for your interest in Moon Town and your patience this summer. Seeya Tuesday!
Well, they don’t so much shoot horses as much as they administer lethal injection, but I rather doubt the horse would argue about the semantics. The issue is whether the horse is going to survive having, say, broken a leg or something major, and if not – KA-BLAM! Suffering over.
They also cancel TV shows which fail to attract enough viewers. Again, it’s a question of long-term viability.
And so it is with WishTales. WishTales failed to attract enough visitors and sales, so Tom Dell’Aringa, Eddie Pittman and I are amicably going our separate ways. We’ll each be selling our books on our own, as we had before. The WishTales store is shut down and the guys’ remaining books have been sent off to Florida and Chicago.
I’ll be keeping the WishTales name, as I still think it’s a good one, and I’ll be selling my stuff through the new WishTales store. If you haven’t seen it yet – I’ve added some new stuff like Artist Editions of Croaker’s Gorge, and some groovy refrigerator magnets, among other things – do stop by.
Join me in wishing luck to Tom and Eddie.

WishTales needs your help! We still have tons of comics available for your summer reading pleasure.
If you have kids, you want to buy these books. They are high-quality, professionally printed comics, appropriate for all ages – kids won’t be bored by them and adults will love them too. It will give the kids something to do on those rainy days when you are sick of hearing the constant dim of video games and TV.
But even if you don’t have kids, but you love great stories and characters, you will want to buy these books. Our mission is the same as Pixar’s – great stories, great characters. And who can’t believe in that mission?
However, the trust is that we can’t keep going like this. We need you to help us get the word out: we have a library of books for sale, and we need people to buy them or WishTales can’t survive.
Go to the WishTales store and get yourself some great comics. Support WishTales. Help ensure that we can provide more great books in the future! And remember, we ship our comics out of a central warehouse, so you can combine orders to save on shipping!

In today’s Marooned, you will find several artifacts from several different comics (including something from Moon Town) buried in the strip. Tom’s running a little contest – can you find and identify all seven treasures? Go have a look and see how you do!

So, I have to write one of those posts I hate writing. Time for me to evoke The H Word… Hiatus.
You’ve noticed that Moon Town has been languishing in Non Update Land. I got a new job at work, and although it’s much better for me and I’m much happier, it is much more demanding. Until I get my hands around this new job, Moon Town is going to have to wait.

During this hiatus, I will also be catching up with a few things. Poor Brock Heasley has been waiting for about half a year for my SuperFogeys Origins story on The Thrice Evil, so it’s high time I got it for him. Without the constant need for more Moon Town strips, I’m betting I can finally honor this obligation.

And last but not least, I’ll also be working on a little strip that has a decent chance with one of the syndicates. I can’t say more about it except it features a kid and a mythical animal, and I love it to death. (BTW, that’s an intentionally pixellated version of the characters, above. I’ll publish more about this when I can.) It’s sort of refreshing – each one of these strips takes me only about an hour, where a typical Moon Town strip can take me 6 to 8 hours. Innnnteresting.
Anyway, I still appreciate your faith and attention, and trust me when I say Moon Town will return in a couple of months or so… perhaps the week of Aug 2.
Thank you for your patience.
