Well, here we are – a quarter of a hundred strips so far. Have a sparkler…
You know, calling the VBL the Very Big Laser would seem somewhat silly until you realize one of the world’s premier radio telescope facilities is the VBA – the Very Big Array – out in New Mexico.

Security Agent Captain Cassandra Quinn is on assignment to the mining outpost Luna Seven amid rumors of pirates near the outpost.
On her approach to the complex, she saw something moving around on the surface of the moon that shouldn’t have been. In attempting to get verification, she’s gotten off on the wrong foot with the facility’s crankily busy administrator, Dabney Flagg, and she’s finding her navigation computer Agnes to be less than helpful. If that’s not an interesting start to her day, a mysterious ship blasted her out of the sky. Her story starts HERE.
Meanwhile, Simon Tripline is waking up and getting ready for his day… his story starts HERE.

Hi Steve !
Getting better and better.
Can’t wait to see what kind of images they intend to project in the guy’s backyard ! Reminds me of some mad Coca Cola project
You know, I think I remember hearing something about that Coca Cola project… what was that about?
I can’t remember where I read that.
But this one is worth the detour :
“On 12 June 2008, the EISCAT Svalbard Radar will be used to transmit a 30 sec advert towards a star system in the constellation Ursa Major” (http://www.environmentalgraffiti.com/offbeat-news/breaking-the-ad-thats-going-into-space/1286)
Hope the extraterrests don’t mistake the add for a declaration of war.
We’ve seen that before !
Dude, HOW are you able to do this strip five days a week? It’s awesome!
Ahhhh, Lucas – it’s all smoke and mirrors here at the ol’ headquarters of Moon Town, Inc… But I’m really glad you like it. All you TTFers have been really supportive! It drives my detractors CRAZY, so keep it up!
Pierre – HA! Can’t one civilization send a random message out into the aether without provoking war from another civilization!? Oh? No? Ah… right. heh heh…
Haha, Very Big Laser indeed.
And yeah, Coke on the moon.
Don’t laugh Coca Cola once actually considered such a plan, but once they realized the ridiculous cost of building and operating it – plus the objection by the FAA of cutting planes in half, it was dropped. Rolling Rock mounted a similar campaign last spring but it was a hoax.
