The morning commute resumes. Nothing like a walk across a gantry to get you awake, bad coffee or no.
HIATUS ALERT!
And now, at the bottom of page 14, I must leave you for a bit. Things are too busy for me to continue Moon Town at the moment, and so unfortunately the strip will be on Hiatus through the end of August. But don’t worry, fresh Moon Town strips will resume August 31, 2009. See you then!

Security Agent Captain Cassandra Quinn is on assignment to the mining outpost Luna Seven amid rumors of pirates near the outpost. On her approach to the complex, she saw something moving around on the surface of the moon that shouldn’t have been. During her attempts to verify her visual sighting, a mysterious ship blasted her out of the sky. Her story starts HERE.
Meanwhile, miner Simon Tripline is waking up and getting ready for his day while the morning news talks of Terraluna Universal’s plans to project their logo onto the moon, which has drawn protests. The news also mentions rumors of piracy surrounding the disappearance of a shipment of ore from Luna Seven. As Simon walks to work, he sees something strange through a porthole. Did he really see it? Or were his eyes playing tricks on him?
Nothing like a bit of coffee to clear the senses, but even that brings an irritant in the form of Vin Sinclair, who is evidently one of Luna Seven’s top performers on the drill. Simon’s story starts HERE.
For a run-down on all the characters, see the NEW READERS page.

Like – WOW. Finally a set which looks like the bowels of Red Dwarf!
I’ll tell you how, he’s a CHEATER I tellya – a CHAETER. He’s probably ‘roiding up it and everything. And yeah, the set rocks.
Oh, yeah, you just KNOW Vin’s not playing straight.
Bummer on the hiatus. Thanks for leaving us some eye candy with a look at the lower levels.
It’ll be over before you know it. And from there, only 8 more pages (23-odd more strips) to the end of Moon Town #1!
Harmless ? Is he now ?
Awesome set, and I like how you’ve kept the other people in a shadowy blue similar to the stairs’.
It works really well to keep the focus on the important stuff.
I only noticed one of them at first, and suddenly, looking more closely at the picture, I realized there were actually three.
Kinda like Where’s Waldo, eh?
Hiatus? But I just got here! Nuts.
Also
The plot thickens yet again.
Heh heh, thanks Skeptible. Just subscribe to the RSS and you’ll know when we’re back.
It’s only 3 weeks. Be over before ya know it.
Oooh! This is a nice couple of panels. I love the bare bones, non-spaceyness aspect of it. Sorta reminds me of film: The Abyss
Thanks, Matt. Yeah, I hope we’re getting you a sense of the moon base and what it feels like to walk around in that space. Maybe it’s because I’ve been an environmental artist at different game companies for too long, but a sense of the environment as a real place is very important to me.
I totally agree that is an important aspect of things. People seem to be hesitant to pull the camera back in comics. I want to see the environment. It helps “seat” me in the world.
Steve, I really really love the look and feel. Your style fits perfectly with the writing. Very well done.
Og, just to let you know I found you through Kukuburi and that you are now bookmarked in my regular M-W-F comics links
Love the artwork, and yes, the attention to the environment and backgrounds is well appreciated. Good stuff – can’t wait to see what happens next.
Wit – thanks for the note. Always nice to hear good things from you.
Allen – welcome to the Moon Town party! I’m so glad you found us, and I’m glad Ramon saw fit to link me up. I do think Kukuburi’s fans would dig Moon Town, so it’s nice to know I’m not completely off my nut there.
Regular strips will continue Aug 31, so stay tuned, and thanks for coming by!
Awooga! Continuity alert! When we first see Jimmy in the corridor, he has a striped jumper. By the time he gets to the gantry, the jumper is plain… Love the characters and environment, by the way (just so my comments aren’t all negative!)
No, I think it’s just the way the light is hitting his… OK, you got me. heh heh… S’what you get for drawing at 2AM. I’ll fix that at my earliest convenience, and thanks for pointing it out!
Great stuff! I’m glad to see I’ve discovered this towards the end of your hiatus. Can’t wait for more!
Yeah, Paul – you stay tuned and new strips will arrive in just 7 days!
these two panels are really nice. i love the shapes you used for the characters , as well as the colors. I’m looking forward to more.
Oooh, I think I know how he is making his quota in half a day . . .
