063 – Follow the Tracks

That’s the funny thing about working on the moon… the record of everywhere you’ve been is always there in the dust, if anyone ever cares to look, that is.

Holy cow – I just realized, if we’re on #58, that means only 4 more strips to go, counting this one, until the end of Moon Town Chapter 3, which is also the end of Moon Town book #1! If all goes to plan, strip #61 will run next Friday, and that will wrap up this bit of the story… Yowza!

Security Agent Captain Cassandra Quinn is on assignment to the mining outpost Luna Seven amid rumors of pirates near the outpost. On her approach to the complex, she saw something moving around on the surface of the moon that shouldn’t have been. During her attempts to verify her visual sighting, a mysterious ship blasted her out of the sky. Her story starts HERE.

Meanwhile, miner Simon Tripline is waking up and getting ready for his day while the morning news mentions rumors of piracy surrounding the disappearance of a shipment of ore from Luna Seven. As Simon walks to work, he sees something strange through a porthole. Meanwhile, Simon’s suspicions are aroused concerning Vin Sinclair, one of Luna Seven’s top drillers. Is there a dark secret to his success? The mechanic seems to suggest so, offering a little evidence to go with it, just in time for Simon’s eyes to play tricks on him again. Simon’s story starts HERE.

Looks great, Steve. Loving the story .

  2. Tom Dell'Aringa

Looking forward to seeing what that dude is up to. Did you mean “Going ON your own” perhaps?

  3. Sardtok

    The middle panel is awesome!
And now it’s time for some smack down… or something along those lines.

  4. Og

Thanks, guys. Tom – naw. It’s just how Dabney talks. “Going your own” means sort of “Going your own way” or “Fine then. Don’t listen to me.”

Can’t wait to see what Simon discovers !
And what Vin is up to.
    And what happened to Cassandra.
And that weird alien-like silhouette we’ve seen twice now.
    And… :)

Nice twist on the ol’ “refusal of the call” haha. BTW – I am really getting swept up in the story now, cos the releases are just so frequent! Can’t really comment on what I’ve loved before about panels if you keep this high standard up, mate! Else I’ll sound like a sycophantic fan-boy; that “kid next door” who nobody can stand, fawning over pages of his beloved moon town in his basement with tweezers and rubber gloves.

Ok, that went to a wrong place very quickly.

Loving the story Steve – The suspense is killing me…

Really nice work there. I mean beautiful. Kudos.

Great strip as usual, Steve! I’m really curious to see if Vin & Simon’s story intersects with Cassandra’s at some point. I miss her!

Time sure does fly doesn’t it!

    Hey there:)
I stumbled on this while following flawedprefects process diary, there was an interview on one of the audio podcasts that introduced moon town to me.
I really like Moon town, great comic with a compelling story!
I always been interested with scifi, comics and space games so moon town is just my cup of tea:) Really eager to find out where the story is going to go….
Much appreciation for all the effort that goes into the looks and story, its absolutely awesome and huge fun to read!
    Best reagrds from Berlin

Heya, Nixon! Thanks for weighing in! Always nice to meet an enthusiastic fan.

Ah, Berlin, eh? One of the things that gives me a chuckle is the fact that this strip seems to be very popular in France, Germany, England, and Australia. Makes me proud. Like David Hasselhoff, I guess, I’m HUGE outside of my own country. :)

    Thanks for the note!

hasselhoff never was popular here:D…j/k well he was lucky to be in the right place at the time the wall came down ..his mix of ‘feelgod’ music and rugged appearance impressed us :D
… too bad the americans didn’t discover moontown yet maybe the appeal of science fiction went down a bit since the new star wars movies:P …nowadays people want pirates and chick flicks…
maybe you should add ‘MOON TOWN ..new with improved and more space pirates!’…
anyway i like the comic and the look like it is:)

    Thx for your reply!

    …and more chicks.
