We begin scant moments after where we left off last time. So, without further ado…

Security Agent Captain Cassandra Quinn is on assignment to the mining outpost Luna Seven amid rumors of pirates near the outpost. On her approach to the complex, she saw something moving around on the surface of the moon that shouldn’t have been. During her attempts to verify her visual sighting, a mysterious ship blasted her out of the sky. Her story starts HERE.
Meanwhile, on miner Simon Tripline’s morning commute to work, he sees something strange through a porthole. Shortly thereafter, Simon’s suspicions are aroused concerning Vin Sinclair, one of Luna Seven’s top drillers. Is there a dark secret to his success? The mechanic seems to suggest so, offering a little evidence to go with it, just in time for Simon’s eyes to play tricks on him again. Simon’s story starts HERE.
While on the job, Vin Sinclair became separated from the mining party. Simon took off to find him, but found Cassandra’s lifeless body instead.

Nice work.
Marty
Yeah! It’s back!
Nice use of DoF and to enhance the flow.
The headlamp looks just like a third eye.
Yeah, what he said! And just in time, I was going through serious Moon Town withdrawals!
The lighting here is really great. I always have trouble getting that “headlight look” to work for me. Perhaps I am using the wrong layer mode to blend it or something…
,,,Anyway, it’s great to see our two heroes finally meet! I just wish it were under better circumstances…
“Lifeless body”? Lifeless?!? Please say it’s only apparently lifeless. Please?
Great multi-plane effect in the first panel with the out-of-focus foreground, then the out-of-focus background in the second panel. Very well done.
Chris – it is, in fact, his Third Eye. Simon has Special Insight. OOOHhhh, I just blew your MIND! YEAH! heh heh…
Thanks for the nice notes, everyone.
dadman – I know what you mean…bad times in the crater…
Matt – that “light” look is one of the things I work hardest on, because I think lighting sells the reality here. Luckily, there’s a trick to it. Basically, I’m painting light colors (with reduced opacity) on a black layer set to Color Dodge. The bright things I paint intensify any light colors underneath. (It also brightens any dark areas, just not to the same degree). It’s basically the opposite of Multiply mode.
Thanks for the comments everyone. It *is* good to have Moon Town back, and there shouldn’t be any interruptions now to summer. Cheers, and see you all back here on Tuesday!
NOooo! Don’t challenge the Murphy! Now you’re in for six months of “interesting times.”
Hi, I just got here from the Wannabe Pirates… and finished reading all the pages ^__^ Awesome work! I love the artwork <3 I can totally see this on glossy paper in a book selling in a bookstore ^___^
Dvon – D’OHH!
Acies – Great having you along! Well, it won’t be in a bookstore any time soon, but Moon Town book #1 is going to be on sale right here at the website in just a couple of weeks, so look for that!

)
( and thanks for the Photshop tip.
Really beautiful work. I’m on the edge of my seat.
Very glad to have the strip updating on schedule! Looking gorgeous, as others have said.
Jande – yes, I will be making Artist’s Editions – autographed versions, with original artwork – available for a little more.
I like the light and depth of field as others have commented.
It gives a sense of motion; I can almost imagine it being animated.
And the headlight really does look like an eye, although it looks kind of feminine.
Well I don’t know about you guys, but I still want that sweet ride!!!!! Maybe I can jack it while he’s staring at Cassandra.
Finally after many weeks of Hiatus!
Sweet! Moon Town returns in full, glorious artistic deliciousness!
Can’t wait to enjoy my daily shot of Moon Town juice! YEAH!
