072 – Point It Somewhere Else

Oh, hi Cassie… you’re awake. Aaaaand… cue anger. ACTION!

Security Agent Captain Cassandra Quinn is on assignment to the mining outpost Luna Seven amid rumors of pirates near the outpost. On her approach to the complex, she saw something moving around on the surface of the moon that shouldn’t have been. During her attempts to verify her visual sighting, a mysterious ship blasted her out of the sky. Her story starts HERE.

Meanwhile, on miner Simon Tripline’s morning commute to work, he sees something strange through a porthole. Shortly thereafter, Simon’s suspicions are aroused concerning Vin Sinclair, who became separated from the mining party. Simon took off to find him, but found Cassandra instead.

    Look’s like Simon’s getting close to the breaking point . . .

  2. Nickolas

He didn’t check to see if she had weapons? Poor guy! :D

  3. Tom

I can see her being confused and thinking Simon took her down. Great looking panels as always! I lover her look under the brim of her helmet.

Cassie looks very different from the first episode. Much straighter nose (she had a tip pointy little tip before, like on a button nose).
Her eyes are also kind of different, the lower edge points more up, kind of almond shaped, and darker.

Still, very nice looking panels, and great dialogue.

Wheww! I though this will be ash tuesday! (get it!)
    Energy Weapon = Dust turner

That’s a great looking gun she has. Does she also have antennae sticking out of her ears?

Fashionistas in 2088 never did figure out the fascination with the Diddlybopper, whether it originally sprang forth from utility or aesthetic, but it was Everywhere. It showed up notably on the helmets of the TLS, where many wondered if it amplified communications signals.

The fact that it also showed up on the tail sections of TLS cruisers suggests it may indeed have had something to do with communications, but it also showed up on the luminous energy weaponry of the day, and in that case, the ring-and-rod design provided a focusing effect for the lumen particles.

My theory is that it proved useful for a variety of particulate and wave-related focusing applications, and therefore became ubiquitous.

Nice! I like the perspective and the anger burst in the Cassie pannel.

    …Or panel even.

Oh, and DooblyBoopers, I mean DoppyBoppers. Gah how do you say it? DippyBippers… ughh whatever, those things rock.

  10. Nixon

i bet she has some secret agenda ….why would u take a gun to the moon …maybe for sabotage or for smuggling moonstone to a pirate base in some asteroid field, maybe she sell it to the mysterious aliens ….
well I’m not gonna gonna let this comic fool me….I know what its planning…

    looking awesome!

    Did you change Cassie’s face?
I seem to remember the nose had a line from the tip to the eyebrow.
And I thought she almost looked Asian when this strip first came out.

Sardtok – Yes, I put her back “on model” with the new design. I had done a very stylized drawing that I LOVED, but when you pointed out that she looked different, I went back and had a look, and did some work on her. I like the drawing even more now. The stylized one was fun, but not right. Thanks for spotting that!
