Let there be clanging of bells and hollering of loud phrases – the Moon Town books have arrived, and they look great! I’ve posted more info about the book book HERE, and I’ve posted a low-resolution PDF so you can see how the book flows in its printed format.
For those of you who don’t want [...]

Sorry, folks… I’m a tad buried this week. Moon Town will be missing in action for a few days. Be back soon.
We regret the inconvenience.
-The Management
UPDATE: 3/25: Still buried. Moon Town will return as soon as I can get back to it.

It has become common among sci-fi fans to express disappointment that the shiny future we were promised once upon a childhood – flying cars, jetpacks, videophones, robot assistants – hasn’t completely come to pass.
Not sure about the flying cars or robot assistants, although I’m sure they’re not far off at this point. As for the [...]

Another day, another review of Moon Town. This one’s at Coyote Trax’s webcomic critique, and is not quite as stellar as the others the strip has received to this point. Not sure about the pedigree of the reviewer, or what he looks for in webcomics, but he takes issue with several features of Moon Town. [...]

There’s a very positive review of Moon Town at Tall Tale Features. If you’re not familiar with TTF, it’s a collective of extremely talented big time cartoonists. Their positive take on my little comic is very humbling! Thanks, guys!

I am very excited to inform you that ex-Disney animator Eddie Pittman is joining our little team over at WishTales! Eddie’s graphic novel Red’s Planet, full of gorgeous art, fantastic storytelling and a color sense that just won’t quit, is the perfect addition to our stable of books. More info at WishTales.

In 1997, we aimed a rocket towards Saturn and sent a 13-foot-wide satellite off on a mission to explore the strange worlds in our own (relative) backyard.
This month, NASA announced plans to extend the Cassini space probe’s Saturn sojourn until 2017—nine years longer than its original end date of 2008. Read all about it at [...]

Here are the buttons I’ll be taking to the SPACE con in April… The four on the left are 1″, and the one on the right is 1.5″

The International Space Station gets a room with a view! The London Telegraph has a lovely gallery of images of the installation of – and first view from – the new windowed observation module. I’m sure the astronauts will appreciate being able to look at something aside from the drab industrial interior of that space [...]

Croaker’s Gorge #2 is online, and the guys are feeling stuck in a rut!

Evian continues their run of creative, watchable commercials. One of our new readers sent in this link because he points out the Water Boys bear a resemblance to Moon Town’s little aliens.

Thanks to Peter for the link…

I am going to have to temporarily bow to reality and reduce Moon Town’s release schedule to 2 times a week for the next few weeks while I handle a few other things. I suppose I am blessed to have quite a bit going, and I need to balance it all out.
Thank you for your [...]

Moon for Sale is a fantastic documentary by the BBC about the moon and why we’ll go back. There’s fuel in them thar hills.

Those are my two proofs. Note that the white borders will be cut off in the final book, so the full page colors and black gutters will go all the way to the edge of the page. You may notice that the one on the left is brighter than the one on the right. Read [...]

Friend-of-the-blog COS sent me in this great link to a video showing NASA’s battery-powered moon bus. You know, just when you think you’ve designed the strangest stuff, real science comes along and gives you just a little more to think about. Thanks, COS!

I’m pleased to announce that the first mini-comic from WishTales Publishing Studio is Rag the Viking, co-created by my business partner Tom Dell’Aringa and me.
The cost, including shipping is $2.50 to the US, $2.75 to Canada and $3 anywhere else.
You can buy it now at the Marooned store page.

Today’s Astronomy Picture of the Day is a gorgeous shot of Saturn’s rings, seen edge-on as the Cassini probe dropped across the ring line. Note that this is a real space shot, not animation, not special effects. Looks like it came out of a Kubrick film, doesn’t it?

All right. Moon Town book #1 is off to the printer. In a few days, they’ll be sending me some proofs, and if everything looks good, they’ll print ‘em up and send ‘em to me, where I can begin selling them to you. If all goes well, delivery is scheduled for FEB 25.

There’s a real nice review of Moon Town over at The Webcomic Builder. It’s fun when people “get” what you’re trying to do.
Looks like there are some good resources there, too, for aspiring webcomics folks. If you are so inclined, I would pop over, and see what they’re all about.

I’m pleased to announce that Moon Town has been nominated in the category of Best New Webcomic 2009 over at The Webcomic List. (NOTE: the site has been very slow and/or not loading today. I guess they’re getting a lot of traffic because of the nomination announcements).
Thanks to the nominating committee, and as they say, [...]
