Isn’t it just what every little Moon Town fan wants for Christmas – a toy Lunar Spader of your very own?

Well, sadly, the toy doesn’t exist, but thanks to some clever CG artistry from friend-of-the-blog COS, we’ve got the next best thing… an idea of what it might look like. Thanks, COS! Great job!

    That’s pretty flippin sweet!

A product from the upcoming Wishtales Toys? Wishtoys?

As much as I like the effort, nice use of reflection and environment maps, ambient occlusion and ray traced reflections… it lacks the core of the sketches. It’s too “clean”. It doesn’t stick to the essence of the source: chunky, worn, rivets, plates, dust, size and… just… MOON TOWN.

Argh, I hate being just a critic. Watch this space. I’ll put my renderfarm where my mouth is. *sigh* this is why I just don’t get enough sleep… :)

*shrug* It looks just like a toy, which I think was the goal. I think COS would have spent a considerable amount of time texturing the thing if he was going for Bang-Up. I speak from experience because it was certainly eating my life alive to texture this stuff when I was making the movie once upon an idiotic dream… but good luck with that no-sleep thing, Paul. I look forward to what you do!

Oh wow, it is really awesome to see it rendered out like that. Since I’m late to the party, I never saw any of the early Moon Town stuff from when it was a movie. Very, very cool! Thanks COS.

I fear Vin might be based on me now… :D
