All right. This is way overdue, but I have been meaning to put up a list of the best webcomics I’ve seen so far, because there are SO many bad webcomics out there. This list will be only the best – the best drawn, the best written, the most consistent. I’ll add to the list at my own pace, and as I discover the best stuff. If you’re looking for some good webcomics to read, look no further.

Astray 3 – Eldon Cowgur
Incredible tales of adventure in a bizarre world that is an original blend of sci-fi, fantasy, humor, drama and drop-your-jaw excellent art. Oh, and it updates every day. I know. Every. Day.

By Moon Alone – Honoel A. Ibardolaza
Two children face horrors and monsters unknown in a fantastic world of myths and magic. There is an animated film of this thing in the future, I’m sure of it. It practically looks like it’s animated on the page now.

Cucuc – Mirlikovir and Cathbad – Little brute from the Iron Age
I have to tell you, Oghme Comics, sort of the parent site for Cucuc, is a veritable multimedia entertainment extravaganza. Cucuc is an excellent comic, more like watching a movie than reading a comic really, but there are other attractions at the site, and a reason to visit every day. In addition to “Cucuc”, there’s “The Epic of Cuchulainn”, a peek behind the scenes at Oghme called “Making Of”, and “Celtic Heroes”.

Kukuburi – Ramón Pérez
A girl cast adrift into the world of dreams… and occasionally nightmares. Kukuburi is full of whacky characters, offbeat humor, and lush environments. Drool.

Legend of Bill – David Reddick
Whether you like Dungeons and Dragons, or just like making fun of the guys who like Dungeons and Dragons, you’ll like Legend of Bill. Think of it as Groo the Wanderer, but with more heart. And quite a bit more brains. And less cheese dip. And no mulch. The ultra-talented drawing machine that is David Reddick pumps out Legend of Bill twice weekly, filling your computer screen with Professional Eyecandy.

Marooned – Tom Dell’Aringa
Tom Dell’Aringa began making Marooned on a whim. It started out as a simply drawn, reasonably funny gag-a-day send-up of various sci-fi conventions. Over time, it has matured into a well-drawn, well-colored, well-written web-comic full of engaging characters and long, enveloping story arcs with satisfying beginnings, middles, and endings. Great fun to watch a good strip getting better, and great fun to watch Tom doing marching to his own drumbeat.

The Meek – Der-shing Helmer, aka Alexds1.
This comic is beautifully drawn, has gorgeous color. Also, I couldn’t help following along to see what would happen next, so Helmer definitely has that addictive story thing down. Caution, for the easily offended and non-European, the main character is a naked girl. Don’t worry, it’s tasteful. But you’re forewarned.

PandaXpress! – Manny Trembley and Eric A. Anderson
The tales of a girl and her panda, plus a wonderful cast of bizarre and fully-realized side characters such as Agent Double-ought Seven and Wickety Jones. It’s gorgeous, it’s well-written, well-colored, and the drama is interspersed with laugh-out-loud humor. PX! just celebrated their fifth year on this award-winning comic.
