Hello, Moon Towners! I have a question for you. What if Moon Town looked like the picture above instead of how it looks currently? (Click for a larger shot…)
NOTE: This is just a pencil sketch to show you the kinds of character designs, uniforms, and presentation I’d do for this thing. I’m not talking about going to black and white, I’m talking about a whole new look… Stay tuned on that.
Some of you may be interested to know that I’ve been disappointed with the look of Moon Town for a while. I feel like I never appropriately decided whether it was a cartoon or something more serious. A lot of times, I think the look of the thing comes off weird. As for me, I much prefer the look of Cassie, above, to the way the whole comic looks currently.
While I try to think of what to do about that, I thought I’d solicit feedback from you all. Thoughts?
The latest edition of the Steve Ogden Braincast is up online with a little bit of Director’s Commentary! Part Two of the great Spoilerific Director’s Commentary for Moon Town: Breaking Lane. This time, I talk about my process for coming up with the first chapter, and how the whole thing might have started with a Skeeter. I also talk about Lost, Heroes, and the way flashbacks are somewhat abused by writers of episodic content. Music by Tim Larkin.
Wow! Our first piece of Fan Art has come in, and what a treat! It’s by my buddy David Reddick, artist and creator of Legend of Bill as well as about a thousand other comics you probably know and love. David and I collaborated on two stories for his upcoming Legend of Bill collection. If you haven’t pre-ordered your copy yet, jump on it. It’s the only way you’ll get to read those stories, cuz they won’t be published anywhere else in the foreseeable future.
David drew this pic of Cassie on the plane on his way back from a recent trip to Las Vegas, where he was busy being a Famous Artist and all around Star Trek Big Shot for his work with Roddenberry’s sci-fi empire. Sounds like it was a great trip, and I know he enjoyed himself immensely. Really nice for him to draw up a little Moon Town action (and he included my favorite Bar Wench from Legend of Bill to boot.) Thanks, David!

I’ve received a few notes asking whether we’re ever going to see a human in Moon Town. So, just for you, a peek at a certain security officer.
Two days until Moon Town goes live…
